Brittney Gowen is an insurance coverage and defense attorney in Atlanta, Georgia. She has experience working in a number of practice areas with a focus on property and commercial general liability policies. 

Brittney first joined Fields Howell as a summer associate in 2019. During that time, she conducted research, drafted motions, and assisted attorneys with coverage and litigation on a variety of insurance policies. She returned to Fields Howell in 2020 after graduating cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law.

Prior to joining Fields Howell, Brittney served as a judicial staff attorney intern in the Superior Court of the Waycross Judicial Circuit. She also worked as a legal associate in the Brunswick Judicial Circuit Public Defenders Office and as an intern in the Athens-Clarke County Solicitor-General’s Office.

In law school, Brittney was on the editorial board of the Georgia Law Review and was a member of the Business Law Society. Her undergraduate degrees – a bachelor of science in psychology and a  bachelor of arts in criminal justice – were also earned from the University of Georgia in 2017.
